Family Weekend is your chance to spend quality time with your student, explore campus life, and make meaningful memories together. To help you plan your visit, we’ve gathered answers to the most common questions about the weekend — from registration details to parking, events, and more. BEFORE YOU COME
WHEN IS FAMILY WEEKEND 2026?
Family weekend is Thursday, November 5 to Sunday, November 8, 2026.
When will registration Open?
Registration for Family Weekend will open in late summer 2026. Stay tuned for more details!
How do I register?
When registration opens in late summer 2026 (date TBD), you will register via an online form. On-site registration will not be available. Sign up for updates to be the first to be notified when it opens.
When is the deadline?
Registration officially closes on October 30, 2025. There will be a late fee added to all tickets purchased after August 31, 2025. Space at Fall Family Weekend 2025 is limited, so we recommend registering as soon as possible.
Who can attend, and what is the registration fee?
All families and guests of current UGA students are welcome to attend! You must register and pay for all family members attending Family Weekend signature events, including your UGA student. Prices are below:
PARENTs AND FAMILY MEMBERS
Includes welcome reception hosted by President Morehead, a UGA vs. Ole Miss Away Game Watch Party, Family Movie Night, two meals, access to several Open House events, and more.

Admission to all Fall Family Weekend events along with a Parent/Family member registration.

V.I.B. Experience: Parents and Family Members
Our Very Important Bulldog experience includes all benefits of general registration, with addition of special access to athletic venues, Brunch in the West End Zone, additional swag items, and entry into the giant Family Weekend Prize raffle. Tickets for this package are limited to 650.

Families experiencing hardship to attend Family Weekend should contact us at families@uga.edu if tickets are available.
If you would like to provide a UGA family experiencing hardship the opportunity to attend Family Weekend, consider donating! Email william.draper@uga.edu if you are able to give. Gifts made to the University of Georgia are tax-deductible.
Are tickets refundable?
Due to the nature of processing, planning, and event coordination, tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you need to cancel or modify your registration, please contact us at families@uga.edu.
Will I get a confirmation?
After purchasing tickets, you will receive a confirmation from our ticket provider and important event information through our Family Weekend listserv with the email you listed on the registration form. Digital tickets will be sent to that same email 3-5 business days before the start of the weekend.
What is included with registration?
Access to all signature Family Weekend events, refreshments at various events throughout the weekend, transportation around campus and from select hotels, a welcome tote to collect Family Weekend merch, printed materials, and it covers processing fees.
Note: Some events and activities may require an additional cost or registration process. This will be noted on the Welcome to UGA app.
DURING FAMILY WEEKEND
When will I get a schedule?
We are so excited to see you in Athens! Details about Family Weekend 2026 will be posted later this summer. In the meantime, download the Welcome to UGA app on the App Store or Google Play Store to make sure you have access to our detailed schedule of events, times and locations once it goes live.
Is this the same as some of the fraternity/sorority parent weekends?
A majority of UGA fraternities and sororities host their own parent weekends in the fall and/or spring semester. Be sure to connect with your Bulldog to review the schedules and consider which weekend you all would like to prioritize as a family. A few chapters host their events on the same weekend as ours and you are encouraged to attend both!
Where should I stay for Fall Family Weekend?
Our first recommendation will be the UGA Center for Continuing Education & Hotel since it is right on campus! Otherwise, Athens has a wide variety of hotel and lodging options available. For a list of locations

What time should I arrive?
Registered participants must check in to pick up their Family Weekend materials, including access badges prior to attending their first event.
Check-in for Family Weekend will be offered as early as Thursday afternoon and last through Friday mid-morning. Only one person per family is required. We will not offer an opportunity for late check-in. Additional information will be provided via email to all registered families.
Will there be merch?
Welcome Kits will include some Family Weekend merchandise, and there will be more offered at our signature events throughout the weekend! There will also be other items available as a gift for donating to our Family Fund. More details will be shared later this summer.
Where should I park?
All registered family members will receive detailed parking instructions one week prior to the start of Fall Family Weekend.
I have a family member who needs special accomodations?
Please indicate on the registration form (once registration opens in later summer 2026) if any member of your family has any dietary restrictions or a need for other accommodations.
