SCHEDULE of events
Family Weekend is your chance to spend quality time with your student, explore campus life, and make meaningful memories together. To help you plan your visit, we are providing an overview of our schedule to reference what type of events your family can typically expect at Family Weekend.
Once you register, you will receive access to our Family Weekend Guide on the Welcome to UGA app. This guide will give you more event details, ways to engage digitally, and access to secure your spot to events and activations that require an additional RSVP. Take a look through the schedule below, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you need additional support. We can’t wait to welcome you in November!

Thursday, November 5, 2026
Family Weekend Check-In
5-8 p.m.
Tate Reception Hall
Beat the check-in rush and pick up your Family Weekend materials early! At check-in, registered participants will receive access badges, souvenirs, and any pre-ordered merch. Only one person per group needs to check in to collect materials for all pre-registered family members, and students may check in on behalf of their families.

Family Weekend Check-In
8-10 a.m.
Tate Reception Hall
Registered attendees should check-in prior to the University Welcome. At check-in, registered participants will receive access badges, other registration materials, and any pre-ordered merch. Only one person per group needs to check in to collect materials for all pre-registered family members, and students may check in on behalf of their families. Late check-in will be offered and details will be shared in advance.
University Welcome, hosted by the Office of the President
11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Tate Grand Hall
The University of Georgia wants to officially welcome families to campus with Bulldog spirit, photo opportunities, and remarks from President Morehead, Vice President for Student Affairs – Dr. Michelle Cook, and others. We want to honor and celebrate our student supporters, so this event is for family members only! You will meet up with your student right after for the remainder of the weekend!
Campus Open House
1-6 p.m.
During this time our academic units, student organizations, and other campus departments will host events for their students and their families. Events may be an open house, faculty meet & greet, guest lecture, etc. so that you have the chance to experience and interact with the faculty, staff and student leaders that your Bulldog connects with every day! Some events may be invite only and information will be shared directly from those departments or your student and on our Family Weekend Guide through the Welcome to UGA app.

Saturday, November 7, 2026
Family Fitness: Get Up, Its Gameday Walk/Run
8 – 9:30 a.m.
UGA Golf Course
Help kick off game day in Athens with this unique opportunity to explore the UGA Golf Course! Choose between a 1.5-mile route or a nearly 5K loop and enjoy the scenic course before the day’s festivities begin. Water will be provided.
V.I.B. Brunch
Group A: 9 – 10:30 a.m.
Group B: 12 – 1:30 p.m.
Sanford Stadium
For our families who registered for our Very Important Bulldog package. This event will be an opportunity for our biggest bulldog fans to get special access to Sanford Stadium. There will be brunch, photo opportunities, access to the game day locker room, and more! Registered families will be sent instructions to select their preferred group entry time in advance.
Family Pickleball Tournament
10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Intramural Fields
Calling the Pickleball Dawgs! Plan to join our family friendly pickleball tournament, to compete for the National Championship…or, actually just a fun prize! All experience levels welcome – no pressure, just play! Eliminated? Side courts will stay open for casual games. There will be room for 32 teams of 2-players each.
Away Game Watch Party & Tailgate
Time is pending announcement of Kick-Off
Legion Field
It may be an away game, but we are bringing the game to you! Learn about UGA athletic traditions, romp around in the Family Fun Zones, meet special UGA guests, choose a meal from one of our vendors, and get ready to watch the Bulldog vs Ole Miss matchup!

Family Fitness: Sunrise Yoga

Stretch out your weekend with our certified instructor, Lisa Williamson – Associate Director for Fitness, Well-Being & Student Engagement.
Farewell at the Bell
9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Chapel Bell
Enjoy complimentary coffee, share a final moment with your student, and take part in a symbolic farewell that celebrates your time together in Athens. Attend to receive a special gift in the mail to commemorate and relive your UGA Family Weekend.
