Family Weekend 2026
Family Weekend is your chance to spend quality time with your student, explore campus life, and make meaningful memories together. To help you plan your visit, we’ve gathered answers to the most common questions about the weekend — from registration details to parking, events, and more. Family weekend is Thursday, November 5 to Sunday, November 8, 2026.
Registration for Family Weekend will open in late-Summer 2026. Stay tuned for more details!
When registration opens in late-Summer 2026, you will register via an online form. On-site registration will not be available. Sign up for updates to be the first to be notified when it opens.
All families and guests of current UGA students are welcome to attend! All guests (including UGA students) are required to be registered to attend.

Includes a Welcome Reception hosted by President Morehead, access to four days of Signature Events, Campus Open House events, and two meals throughout the weekend.
Admission to all Family Weekend events along with a parent/family member registration.

Children 5 and younger are free. All guests regardless of age must be registered.
Our Very Important Bulldog (V.I.B.) experience includes all benefits of general registration, with additional benefits: special access to athletic venues, Brunch in the West End Zone, additional swag items, and entry into the Family Weekend Prize Raffle. Capacity is limited to the first 650 guests.
Families experiencing hardship to attend Family Weekend should contact us at families@uga.edu if tickets are available.
If you would like to provide a UGA family experiencing hardship the opportunity to attend Family Weekend, consider donating! Email william.draper@uga.edu if you are able to give. Gifts made to the University of Georgia are tax-deductible.
Due to the nature of processing, planning, and event coordination, tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you need to cancel or modify your registration, please contact us at families@uga.edu.
Access to four days of Signature Events, Campus Open House events, refreshments throughout the weekend, transportation around campus, a welcome tote to collect Family Weekend merch, and printed materials.
Note: Some events and activities may require an additional cost or registration process. This will be noted on the Welcome to UGA app.
The Family Weekend schedule will be available later this summer. In the meantime, download the Welcome to UGA app on the App Store or Google Play Store to make sure you have access once it goes live.
Many UGA Greek Organizations host their own parent weekends in the Fall or Spring semester.
Be sure to connect with your Bulldog to review the schedules and consider which weekend you all would like to prioritize as a family. A few chapters host their events on the same weekend as ours and you are encouraged to attend both!
The UGA Center for Continuing Education & Hotel is at the heart of campus and offers comfortable accommodations. Athens also has a wide range of hotel and lodging options available, which can be found through our partners at Visit Athens.

Registered participants must check-in to pick up their Family Weekend materials, including access badges, prior to attending their first event.
Check-in for Family Weekend will be offered as early as Thursday afternoon and last through Friday mid-morning. Only one person per family is required. Additional information will be provided via email to all registered families.
Welcome Kits will include some Family Weekend merchandise, and there will be more offered at our signature events throughout the weekend! There will also be other items available as a gift for donating to our Family Fund. More details will be shared later this summer.
All registered family members will receive an email with parking and transportation details in advance of the weekend.
